The Birds and the Beads

Today is my friend Jessi's birthday. She is a wonderful friend, and woman of God and I consider myself blessed to have her as a friend.

She's also a little bit rock and roll.

I decided to make Jessi a necklace for her birthday, however I have NEVER made a piece of jewelery in my life. I learned last night this is not easy, especially after my clasp broke and I had to just wire one entire side of the necklace off.

Birds are everywhere, so I made her this necklace with a tattoo-ish looking bird on it. It is not my favorite thing I've ever made. And, Jessi, I don't care if you never wear it, but I thought of you all the while I was stringy beads and cursing my broken clasp! You are such a joy in my life and I thank God for the wonderful community He has blessed us with.

Happy Birthday Jessi!! I love you!!

Super cute stuff!!

Thank you for the congrats!! You are so sweet, you should move to Charlotte so we can be real life BFFs! Ha! I will let you know my colors when I pick them, but you really don't have to make me an inspiration board (although I am dying to see what you would come up with!) You are such a sweetheart!

How blessed is your friend to have you in her life! To take the time and love to create something unique and special with your own hands is a more than a gift, it's a treasure.

We were talking while you were gone that you could have used the Martha Stewart ribbon as the clasp after it broke... BTW we weren't talking about it because we didn't like it, but because the ribbon matched so wonderfully.
