The Thrifty Decor Chick hooked your girl up with an award. How SWEET of her! I love love love her blog and you should go check her out. She has a great post right now about BOOing your neighbors and friends. How fun!!!

Now, the rules with this lil' award is to list 6 things you value and 6 things you don't.

I know I could leave all the mushy, gushy, cutsy blog answers, however this really got me thinking on the matters of my heart. In the Bible study I'm doing yesterday it had me list both the positive and negative things God has in my life right now, then challenged me to think about which list I am more consumed with.

Values? What are they? Values are what we think about most. Where our thoughts, dollars, and time is spent.

Sure I value seasons, beauty, my friends and family and a good pumpkin spike latte. But what are the 6 things I'm valuing that should be taking a back seat. Where is God challenging me in my values?

1. Control
2. Money
3. Appearance
4. Material Possessions
5. Approval from Others
6. Laziness

And what 6 things do I NOT value ENOUGH?

1. My health
2. My freedom
3. God's providence
4. Taking time for myself
5. Serving
6. Study

Sorry to go all serious on you folks, but this is me smack dab in the middle of what God is working on me with.

What are some values you are holding a little too closely?

Come back and see me!

Control and money? Yeah, me too.

I am a control girl. I have to let go of that a lot.

Funny that I stumbled across this blog just today - I felt a lot of 'pressure' and realized it was fear about the economy - basically boiling down to exactly what you said - control and money - I have to constantly remind myself, let go and let God :)

Thanks for a great site!

I would especially agree on the health thing. I am still young enough that I just take it for granted. Good post!

I have some serious issues with control. Money? Yup that too.

Good post. It's making me think.

I saw your comment over at BooMama's, and I am SO happy there is another person who uses the word "Hi-larious!"

Great post; I think it's important to recognize the parts of our lives that God would much rather us be focusing on than money and approval. I would know, my list looks a lot like yours!

What a great post Kara! I say I value my health, but I don't do everything I can to really take good care of myself. (As I sit here eating a bag of popcorn!)

Oh my ... did you peek at my diary? So many of your answers are the same as mine. Trusting God is a biggy. Not that He has ever given me reason to distrust Him ... quite the opposite! I do trust Him .. I guess it just comes in layers. Does that make sense?
