Recently on a blog I just can not remember (don't you hate that problem) I got the idea to have a wedding invitation or program custom matted and framed as a wedding gift. And, that my friends, is exactly what I gifted my friend Kalen at her wedding this past weekend.
Update: Thank you to Carrie, at Buzzings of a Queen Bee for reminding me that she gave me this AMAZING idea. Check it out here.
They had a beautiful fall ceremony here. Complete with pumpkins, and fall ribbons, and favors of apple butter. The bride and groom wrote their vows, so I was of course in the seats crying, and then he got out a guitar and sang to her. I was done for! But, it was a wonderful time. Congratulations Chris & Kalen!
Now, funny thing is I had the matte cut for the invitation, but a pen exploded all over it. Luckily, when I got to the wedding, the program fit the exact same size. So I had to do some quick assembly in the parking lot of Walgreen's before the reception.
Here's some pics...

Here is her beautiful program in shades of cream and maroon. I had a matte cut with taupe and the same maroon in her text...If you want to make sure you have a good picture of the gift, have your handsome boyfriend hold it for you...
Then plop on some of your favorite boring beige wrapping paper that works for ANY occasion so long as you gutsy it up with some cuteness...
For looks, add some damask ribbon, a scrapbook sticker, and a cream scrapbook rubber sticker/frame you bought a pack of at the dollar store...
There you have it! A very cute, keepsake gift they will be able to display in their home for years to come.
I just love weddings.
Come back and see me!
