For Always

Something quite exciting happened to me this past weekend.

Let me tell you all story...

It was an average Friday night. Jake had planned a surprise dinner date for us.This was not at all out of the ordinary.

I got flowers...also not out of the ordinary.

We had an AMAZING dinner at Farmhuas in St. Louis. If you live here, go there. You will not regret it.

We had our favorite drinks at our favorite bar.

We were headed to our favorite wine bar when we made a wrong turn. Jake went to turn around and we ended up on a gravel road and before I knew it we were near a field, by a lake, under the stars... with a circle of candlelit mason jars waiting for us.

I was shocked.

My stomach dropped and my eyes filled with tears. Then in a moment of self-talk I thought, "Get yourself together Kara!"

I had been there before. The same exact thing happened on our second date.

We danced under the stars to a few very very very adorable songs. I was beside myself. He is absolutely wonderful. I love him so much. And,I'm pretty sure I told him that 18 million times while we were dancing.

Then, after the last song...

He told me how much he loved me...

and that he would love me for always...

Then he got down on one knee...

and asked me to marry him.

I was absolutely overwhelmed. In fact, I dropped straight to my knees too and told him over and over again, "I love you so much! I love you so much!" Then, I finally got around to saying YES!

So that's that.

I'm getting married.

I could not be more thrilled. God has blessed me with an amazing man who loves Jesus more than he loves me. I couldn't ask for anything more. I can't wait to be his wife and spend our life together serving the God who has blessed us far more than we have ever deserved.

Here are a few pictures Jordyn came and snapped right after it happened:

Warning- this blog is about to vomit all over the place with wedding inspiration and DIY projects.

My apologies in advance.

Bring it, Kara!!! I can't wait "to be a part" of your wedding planning-- it'll be fun to follow along. The proposal story is sweet, and I'm so happy you two have been brought together. My favorite part? When you said he loves Jesus more than you! Kisses and hugs, elise

That is awesome!! What a thoughtful proposal!!! My proposal was in Cinderella's castle at Disney World and I felt as if the whole world saw it!! I still loved it, but a nice quiet, romantic proposal is so very special. Congrats and I can't wait be inspired by wedding DIY!
