Lordy what a day...

I spent several hours with a girlfriend of mine at the hospital today. She is pregnant and they thought she may have had a blood clot in her lung, everything is ok. Praise God!!! I got to play babysitter for the day, picking up her two sons from daycare and spending some quality time in the McDonald's play place. Quite the departure from my normal evening of watching tv, home projects, and checkin' in on my blogs!!!

Still no camera, still a dead battery. So THANKFULLY Tricia Anne over at Notes of Sincerity tagged me with the challenge to share "6 random things" about myself.

So here goes....

1. Growing up, I wanted to either be a tour guide or a QVC host as a profession. I would lead my parents on "tours" on vacation. I remember being a child on a trip to Napa giving them all the ins and outs at a winery. That must have been hilarious. I also would video tape myself video taping myself "selling" things from by bedroom on my own QVC show. Yeah, I still kind of wish I had that job.

2. I am an only child.

3. My favorite food in the whole world is the potato. Potatoes are my version of manna raining from heaven. Baked, fried, sweet, salad, frozen, raw (i know). I love them all. I remember sitting out my Grandma's front porch peeling potatoes and sneaking bites of the raw bits. Gross to most, wonderful to me.

4. I religiously get my hair done every 7-9 weeks. I pay way too much, but I could never cheat on my hair girl. I love her. If you live in the STL and need someone wonderful, let me know.

5. I really hate two colors of ink on one sheet of paper. Black or blue people. You just can't have it both ways.

6. I love going to the NHRA drag races.

Instead of tagging more of you ( I love you all too much) ... let's shoot for a comment frenzy.

What is the MOST random fact about yourself you can think of. What a wonderful way to get to know each other a little better :)

Come back and see me!

Completely random, but as a child I could not have ANY food on my plate touching (especially meat and vegetables). While I can tolerate that now as an adult, I can still only eat one thing at a time until it is gone, then I move on to the next item.

Fun post! I'm a potato girl, too...

As for my blue chair, I bought it that way, at one of my favourite thrifting haunts. However, if you like the colour, this company has a similar one: www.flikandcompany.com

They call it Flik and Co. Blue. It's gorgeous. I used it on the fairy door in my left sidebar of my blog.

Hope this helps!

First... Lara- I completely understand; however, I still can't tolerate food touching one another as an adult. If they made divided plates as fine china you better believe I'd have those in my cabinets.

Random fact... I camp with a gun club. We're called the Twaskita Longrifles and we dress in period clothing and live as if we were in the 1800s.

I like this post! Random fact about me: I only take baths. I watched all of those movies about people coming in and killing people in the shower and so I figure at least this way I will see them. I'm sure i'd still get killed though.. haha

I am with you on the hairstylist...although I have to go longer than 7-9 weeks or my husband will kill me. But nothing beats a great haircut, it just makes everything so much easier. :)

I love it! Your parents must have been so amused as you played tour guide! That is great! Another strange thing, is that I never read a magazine from front to back. I always go from back to front. Weird.
Thanks for playing! This was fun!
Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne

I am the same way with ink! If I pick up a pen and it isn't the color I thought it was I have to start over!!

I prefer black. I really don't think there should be blue pens.

Hey...I THINK I got over here from Buzzings of a Q.B.???

Anyway, I noticed you love all things Damask. Thought you might like to take a peek at my daughter's new damask walls. It's posted as the "Big Reveal" on my site.
If you've already visited it, just dismiss me as a "dork". : )

SOOO funny you mentioned NHRA. I worked for Ron Capps (the guy who drives the Skoal Car, to those of you who don't know him) for a couple of years. I was a SKOAL GIRL! Ha ha! (And, no, I never used the stuff, actually felt TERRIBLE promoting it, so I quit)

I remember videotaping ourselves doing infomercials in your bedroom. I think we did a lot of Oreck vacuum commercials and something for a love songs CD compilation. Those were the days!
