Avoid Wedding Address Torture. Use Google Docs!

I warned you. Here we go with the wedding posts.

Listen close girls. If you are planning a wedding, or will be planning a wedding someday, I would like to take a moment to introduce you to your best friend...

Google Documents.

It is saving my life right now and I will tell you why.

1. Jake and I can both access the same guest list spreadsheet at any time and make revisions. We don't have to huddle around the same computer making edits and worrying if we are using the latest version.

2. I love weddings. I love planning events. I think this whole mess of a few months is going to be a blast...with one exception: address collection. The idea of calling, facebooking and stalking people with an address book in order to get their contact information makes me want to scream and hide.

We all hate those facebook messages where you get 18 million replies with people's addresses you don't care about. I wanted to avoid this at all costs.

Enter Google Documents and their handy dandy form feature.

We got to send everyone on our list a link to an online form.

They filled it out.

THEN IT AUTOMATICALLY UPDATES THEIR INFORMATION IN A SPREAD SHEET!

Can we say easy address label creation?

The couple below explains the whole process in a much more even-keel and acceptable way than I would. Had Google documented my experience via video, they would have found me rolling around on the ground giggling with tears in my eyes from the excitement this amazing feature is giving me right now. I no longer want to go hide in a hole somewhere.

Moral of the story? Google Documents is a bride's dream come true.

They have tons of ways to help you with your wedding right here

Enjoy.

Yes! Someone else see the value of Google docs. :D While I've been married for a while, it is fun to see the process each time with different brides. David Tutera is one of my favorite celebrity people.

Google Docs is awesome! If you hate having to track people down to get their address, just wait until you have to track them down to get them to turn in their RSVP card! It's enough to make you scream! I wish Google had an app for that! :) Good luck with the addresses!
