When I realized you could buy dried hydrangeas my heart lept. When I realized you could find them on Ebay for REALLY cheap, my heart REALLY lept!
So what did I do?
I bought some of course.
Here's the problem, what do I do with them now? Put them in my apothecary jars? Make an average arrangement? Create a spring wreath?
All ye' with wonderful creative minds... A girl needs some feedback!
What would you do with a huge, overflowing box of dried hydrangeas?
Come back and see me!

Well I would dye them light blue and make an extra bouquet for my wedding b/c my bouquet is going to be light blue hydrangeas! They are so pretty and fluffy!
You could also buy a clear vase, put some pretty colored stones in the bottom and fill the rest of the vase with the flowers.. if they have stems. Do they have stems?
Wow!! I had know idea you could buy them on ebay! I'm headed there now!
I think you should put them in a vase..darnit- I just saw that Laurie already posted that.
How fun are they! I would put them in a flower arrangement! Good luck and let us know what you do with them!
I would take a grapevine wreath, moss, other nature collections,i.e. leaves, pine cones and sticks, for fall or winter. Than sea shell, pretty ribbon for spring and summer. Carefully tuck your dried hydrangeas in for either season. Good Luck!
I love hydrangeas! I would put one bunch in a small vase, on a nightstand or something..And I think a wreath would be really pretty..
Good grief, I have such a brown thumb that I have no idea what to do with even a dried flower, let alone a live one! So pretty though...

i love hydrangeas too. I never would have thought that you could purchase dried ones on ebay. Hmmm. I love peonies too. I can't wait until we get our yard figured out so that I can plant flowers!!
mmmm apothecary jars, definitely. but not 'till spring. UNLESS... you wanted to dust them with glitter and use them as winter decor......
Mmmm.. put them in a milk glass vase! Hope no one else posted that... I didnt check.
so, I'm going to be in asheville the weekend of nov 21/22. twilight comes out on the 21. if you happened to come to asheville that weekend, we could totally go see the movie together!
Can't wait to see what you do with the hydrangeas. I looove them, too. So pretty!
You can add the dried hydrangeas to your christmas tree. Be sure to show us what you decide to do!
Hydrangias are my favorite flowers too. I'm getting married in Jan. and I am carrying blue ones and my bridesmaids are carrying white ones. (my colors are navy, silver and white) I would put them all over...I've done that in the past, dried my own and then put them in big vases in my home.
btw--I work with your Aunt Kathy and she told me to check out your blog, that we had a lot in common and that I reminded her of you. I can see that we do have a lot in common! Your blog is fun and interesting!! :)
Hi Kara! We are having a heat wave here in PA and I was reading through some of your older posts when I noticed this one. I love hydrangeas! Last year I clipped a bunch from our bush, dried them and at Christmas I wrapped the stems in a "newspaper cone" (I'm sure there is a technical term for these) and stuck them throughout our Christmas tree. They looked so pretty and I recieved tons of compliments...I plan on doing the same thing this year.
Love your blog! So excited to see all of your wedding inspired posts coming up! Congratulations again!
Jessica
